IT Help Desk Technician

Job Summary

iRhythm Technologies, an innovative cardiology medical device and service company, is working to combine a novel device, analysis method, and business model together to create a new approach to cardiac rhythm monitoring. iRhythm is looking for a part-time IT Help Desk Technician to assist with investigating and resolving software and hardware problems for the company’s computer users.

Responsibilities

  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
  • Determines whether problem is caused by hardware such as modem, printer, cables, or telephone.
  • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff.
  • Logs and tracks calls using problem management database, and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
  • Analyzes and evaluates incident reports and makes recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.
  • Calls software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.
  • Installs personal computers, software, and peripheral equipment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Employee account activations/terminations.  Creates/disables employee system accounts, trains user on how to log onto all iRhythm systems, and how to change default passwords.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic telephony problems.
  • Generates monthly ACD reports.
  • Helps to manage and track IT assets.
  • Prepares quarterly Patch Arrhythmia Summary reports for accounts.
  • Handles ad hoc Patch Arrhythmia Summary report requests.

Required Qualifications

  • College degree in related field or minimum of six months to a year work experience in IT
  • Demonstrated ability to install, upgrade, and perform maintenance on user workstations.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with all Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory and applications.
  • Knowledge of CardioComm GEMS software a plus.
  • Knowledge of ShoreTel Telephony systems a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Microsoft, A+, Cisco certifications a plus
