Excerpt from abstract:
Ventricular tachycardia (VT) has historically been associated with sudden cardiac death. However, this association was observed when VT was primarily identified in inpatients or after transmural infarcts. With advances in cardiovascular care and the capacity to diagnose VT over longer periods of outpatient monitoring, this association may no longer apply. We sought to characterize the prevalence and prognostic value of VT on ambulatory ECG monitoring.
